Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 description
Freshly published on 24th January 2019, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is the second adaptation of the famous tabletop strategy game from Games Workshop, which managed to attract far more positive reviews than the initial apparition from 2016.
Developed by Tindalos Interative as well and published by Focus Home Interactive, the storyline of the game tells the players about the events in Gathering the Storm and is a much improved version with big expansions, dramatic story development and wonderful systems to explore.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Story
The story of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is focused on the Warhammer 40.000 universe and it is a dramatic presentation of the events from the Gathering Storm and the 13th Black Crusade. After Abaddon has succeeded and Cadia has fallen, the galaxy will be split into two by a chain of reaction-events, causing bloody conflicts to erupt while new allegiances will form. The battles of the game will be far bigger, longer and more complex than the ones you have got used to in Batlefleet Gothic Armada, and you will also have the chance to meet renowned characters to play with, such as Roboute Guilliman or Belisarius Cawl.
This time, the high narrative values will be reflected by the three dynamic and extensive campaigns, as the story will be focusing especially on the Necrons, the Tyranids and the Imperium, three campaigns that will be telling three different stories about the major factions of the galaxy, during their navigation of the Aegis Ocularis, which will be a new name of the Eye of Terror. Anyway, with so many new features, improved and extended modes, refined gameplay and better balanced online experiences, this game is expected to become one of the ultimate Warhammer 40.000 experiences in the space battle.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Mechanics
There will be all the 12 factions of the original game included, epic battles and a tree to help you manage the upgrades of your ships. The game mechanics are, as already stated, much improved in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, especially when it comes to the campaigns. Therefore, the new version, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, focusing the three fully-fledged strategy campaigns reminded in the description, will be determining the player to imagine “what if” scenarios, regarding the things that might happen when you, as a competent commander, will be in charge of the Tyranic, Imperium and Necron fleets, during the wake of the Fall of Cadia.
Each scenario that will be created in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 will be creating a completely different future of the universe in the 41st millennium and after, so that your choices will absolutely define the galaxy from its very beginning.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Modes
Another highly improved element in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, compared to the initial Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, is the variety and expansion of the multiplayer modes. This time, you’ll get the chance to take any of the 12 factions into the multiplayer mode, for the most fun experience you’ll be able to have, and you’ll be able to demonstrate your gaming abilities through AI games, casual versus and ranked 1v1 or 2v2 ladders. You’ll also have the option to modify variables in your fleet builder this time, being allowed to craft your battles exactly the way you imagine them, during a more complex process which ill also allow you to get into your fight a lot faster.
Furthermore, for every player, there will be unlocked every faction and ship to start with. As a consequence, your own skill as a player will be the single element affecting your performances and gameplay. There will also be numerous sub-factions to choose from, such as Hive, Sept, Tribe, Chapter or others, while the rewards for ranking up will always help you become even more powerful due to upgrades that will help you become even more dominant, dedicated and capable.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Technical Issues
Although it is a new and promising game, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 doesn’t seem to have skipped some annoying bugs and technical issues, according to its reviewers so far. While the graphic has been enchanting for most of the players, and while really major bugs weren’t detected, let’s take a look upon some of the most reported issues that appeared during gameplay.
Sometimes, the game will become unplayable in certain campaigns, keeping crashing with no good reason. Even after installing the last patch, the game seems to be crashing to desktop with no explanation of improvement. A certain moment when the game keeps crashing takes place into the Imperium campaign, every time the Tyranids show up. Some other to reported bugs are when evolving to level 3, when the Archeo Gellar Field will not stop attacking Nemesis Tessera in Obsidian Depths, or the appearance of sudden French texts or off-topic texts out of nowhere while playing a mission. Yet, if these issues will be fixed, the game promises to be definitely loved by its users due to its complexity and interesting story.
