Fortnite: Battle Royale description
Having various release dates for the several platforms it is available on, Fortnite: Battle Royale has been firstly released on the 26th of September 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Created with the same high-class engine used in the development of Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 or Square Enix’s remake of the Final Fantasy VII, closely worked on by the team of Epic Games, Fortnite: Battle Royale is still remaining a free game to play, featuring a hundred characters, each controlled by a different player, abandoned onto an unexplored island and having next to nothing in their inventories.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Story
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, there is no moral choice to be made, no heavy emotional consequence on the actions made and no important dialogue for a story. There is actually nothing indicating a plot, a storyline, a legend or any purpose of the game. The story of Fortnite: Battle Royale will be what each player will decide to do and understand during their journey in this virtual world, developed and published by Epic Games. While Epic Games are becoming greater and greater in releasing games with unique storylines, this time, the entire action and plot will be explained almost completely through the world that the player will be in and upon which there will exist one only map, which ill constantly be improving and expanding.
Up to 100 players, each controlling their own character, will be transported and left on an island, forced to do anything in order to gain, by finding or crafting, all the necessary resources in order to survive. Therefore, the story will be about elaborating the best strategies of management upon creating living conditions, upon deciding who does what and upon learning whom to attack or to run from, when enemies appear.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Mechanics
The only mission in Fortnite: Battle Royale will be surviving. Player will need to find a way to confront traitors and collaborate with others in order to keep their characters alive until the end of the match. Playing in a huge online multiplayer mode, the game will have up to one hundred of players forced to jump from their transport and free fall until they get on their battle field, left on the new island with almost nothing in their inventories on the virtual new lands. Before actually starting the match, however, the players will be able to choose the place where they fall and enter the battlefield, according to what they consider the most appropriate, either hiding behind a building, jumping on rocks or open fields or under the trees. Having only a pickaxe equipped in the beginning, it will be crucial for the players to grab every new tool and weapon found or looted, in order to enlarge their inventory with better fighting equipments and skills in order to survive. Amongst these, players will find useful pieces of gear, weapons and traps, and even other better items if they will search for them in farms or houses from the battlefield.
Special about the game mechanics of Fortnite: Battle Royale mechanics, will be the high level of freedom that the game will offer the player. You will be able to do anything you wish and to apply whatever strategy you think might work, as long as it will keep you alive, from building makeshift stairs and climbing on top of house roofs in order to stay away from enemies, to collecting resources from trees and several places you’ll explore. If you prefer hunting, that’s what you’ll do. If you are more into fighting others and stealing their goods, you may to that as well. No matter which strategy you will use, in the end, remaining alive will be the only goal that will bring you victory.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Modes
As already mentioned several times above, Fortnite: Battle Royale is offering a multiplayer mode, enjoyable along with up to 100 other players who need to work together or to fight each other in order to survive until the end.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Technical Issues
Upon the technical issues encountered during the playthrough of Fortnite: Battle Royale, some reported problems are mobile lags, connection to servers failed with no reason, mouse glitches with quick movements, shot delays, freezing during close combat, automatically switches from building to fighting and other similar ones.
